🔹 Our Vision

Islam has ordained the pursuit of knowledge as obligatory (Farḍ) for every Muslim. The beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“Ṭalābul-‘ilmi fāriḍatun ‘alā kulli muslim” —

meaning, seeking knowledge is an indispensable duty for every Muslim man and woman.

Inspired by this noble teaching, in 2011, under the guidance of the Managing Trustee of the SZHM Trust, the organization “Alor Pothe” (On the Path of Light) was established—a women-centric platform grounded in self-inquiry and scholarly engagement.

🔹 Monthly Women’s Gathering

On the last Saturday of every Gregorian month, the Trust’s auditorium hosts the “Alor Pothe” Monthly Women’s Gathering.

Over a hundred women participate in these sessions, engaging with eminent scholars, university professors, researchers, and young Sufi thinkers.

Core topics include:

  • Contemporary life issues through the lens of the Qur’an and Hadith
  • Lives and practices of female Sufis
  • Health, family, spiritual purification, and marital wellbeing
  • Question & answer sessions, information sharing, and counseling

These gatherings are broadcast live on Facebook, reaching audiences nationwide and abroad, garnering widespread appreciation.

🔹 Grassroots and Community Activities

Members of “Alor Pothe” actively participate in home-based meetings and local-level Maizbhandari Gausia Haq Committee events organized at the sub-district level. These occasions provide women direct involvement, leadership opportunities, and educational access.

🔹 Online Knowledge Sharing

Through the “Alor Pothe” WhatsApp group, daily content is shared, including—

  • Qur’anic verses and their Tafsir (interpretations)
  • Hadith texts alongside relevant life applications
  • Jurisprudential issues and rulings (Mas’alah-Masā’il)
  • Problem-solving via Q&A sessions

This platform has evolved into a vibrant virtual Islamic learning space.

🔹 Women’s Empowerment Training

Beyond religious education, “Alor Pothe” organizes various training courses and workshops aimed at building women’s academic skills and self-reliance. These initiatives empower women socially, professionally, and personally.

🔹 Humanitarian Service & Future Plans

Members regularly engage in social welfare activities—supporting the impoverished, educational initiatives, moral education campaigns, and various public welfare projects. Plans exist to further expand these efforts, Inshā’Allāh.

🔹 Our Dream

“Alor Pothe” is more than an organization—it is an inspiration, a spiritual summons.

A place where women find light, reflection, dialogue, and guidance for holistic growth.
